This Privacy Policy explains how Denomination Calculator ("we", "us", "the application") handles information when you use this website.

The short version: Denomination Calculator does not collect, transmit, or store your data on any server. All processing happens locally in your browser.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Denomination Calculator does not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or any personal identification.
  • The amounts you calculate or the denominations you enter.
  • Your location or IP address beyond what a standard web server log may capture on page load.
  • Any financial account information.
  • Payment information of any kind.

2. Local Storage

Denomination Calculator stores the following data in your browser's localStorage:

  • Recent calculation history — a record of your last 50 calculations, including currency, denomination quantities, total, and timestamp. This is stored solely to allow you to retrieve a previous count.
  • Selected currency — the last currency you used, so it can be pre-selected on your next visit.
  • Display theme preference — whether you've selected light or dark mode.

This data:

  • Never leaves your device.
  • Is not accessible by Denomination Calculator's servers.
  • Can be cleared at any time using the "Clear All History" option in the application, or through your browser's privacy settings.
  • Is not shared with any third party.

3. Service Worker and Caching

Denomination Calculator uses a service worker to cache application files for offline use. The service worker:

  • Stores copies of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and font files in your browser's cache.
  • Does not intercept or transmit your calculation data.
  • Allows the calculator to work without an internet connection after the first load.

4. Web Fonts

Denomination Calculator loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. This means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when you first load the page. Google may log this request according to their own privacy policy. If this is a concern, the calculator will still function with your browser's system font.

5. Analytics

At the time of this writing, Denomination Calculator does not use any third-party analytics service. If analytics are introduced in a future version, this policy will be updated to reflect the specific service used and the data collected.

6. Cookies

Denomination Calculator does not use cookies. All preferences are stored in localStorage as described above.

7. Children's Privacy

Denomination Calculator is a general-purpose utility and does not target or knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
